Core concepts
The five ideas that make the rest of the docs make sense.
Project
A project pairs one GitHub repository with one branch. It holds its own environment variables, signing secrets, notification settings, and build history. If you need builds from two branches of the same repo — say, develop and main — create two projects.
Build
A build is a single run of the pipeline, scoped to a platform (Android or iOS) and an environment (staging or production). Each one carries a status, a duration, the commit and branch it ran from, and its full logs.
Environment
Staging builds are meant for testing: Android compiles an unsigned debug build, iOS signs Ad Hoc, and the result is installable over the air. Production builds are signed release builds, gated by plan — see plans & limits.
Secret Vault
The encrypted store for your iOS certificate, provisioning profile, and Android keystore. Uploaded once per project, reused on every build. Full details in Secret Vault.
Run token
A short-lived, single-use credential minted only when a build actually starts. It's the only way secrets ever leave the Vault — a build that was never triggered through pkgr.app, or a token that's already been used, gets nothing back.
